Bob Ryan Scholarship Fund
Scholarship Information
Jon Ryan, his brother Steve, a
University of Regina Rams 2007 graduate, and their family have created a
scholarship in their father's name. The Bob Ryan Scholarship has been created to
not only help alleviate the financial pressure of student athletes playing for
the University of Regina Rams Football Club, but to also help those in need of
support of cancer care and treatment at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre.

Bio
Bob Ryan was born on July 21,
1952 in Humboldt SK to Joyce (nee Hockley) and John Ryan. He grew up in St.
Gregor SK until age 12 when the family moved to Regina. After graduating from
O'neill High School, Bob attended the University of Regina. He obtained a
Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts, majoring in psychology. While pursuing his
degrees, he began working at the Ranch Ehrlo Society. He began as a child care
worker. Throughout the years he was an integral part of growing "The Ranch" into
the outstanding organization that it is today. Ranch Ehrlo Society has helped
thousands of troubled and at risk youth since the 1960's.
Bob married Barb (nee Quest)
in 1974. They had 4 kids, Erica, Jill, Jon, and Steve. Bob was a devoted husband
and father, who was always involved in all of his kids activities, especially
sports. He was the president of Saskatchewan lacrosse for a number of years.
Before he passed away Bob had one of his proudest moments when he got to watch
his son play football on Lambeau Field.
Bob loved watching his family
grow. He gained 2 son-in-laws in 2003, Ryan Honoway and Andrew Scheer. Bob loved
being a grand father (Pappy). When he passed away he had 2 grand children,
Thomas and Quinn. Since his passing, the Ryan family has had 3 new additions,
Grace, Bennett, and Madeline.
The Ryan family loves to talk
about their beloved husband/dad/Pappi. He was a brilliant, selfless, kind, and
loving man. He is missed but has left a legacy with both his family and friends.
